Death is an integral part of life in Strigov, a mountain village in eastern Slovakia. And when grandma dies, the farewell echoes the slow disappearance of the small, traditional community that calls the village home. An intimate documentary filmed from a personal perspective.

Barbora Bereznakova is a film director and artist from Slovakia based in New York City, USA. Barbora’s work contextualizes contemporary social challenges through film, site-specific interventions, music videos, and video art installations. Her feature documentary debut, Never Happened, premiered at Warsaw International Film Festival in 2019.
