Ella Glendining loves her body, but because nobody around her looks like her, she has to deal with constant stares, insults, and discrimination. Born with malformed hip joints and bones, Glendining has trouble walking and being upright, but that does not stop her from dancing. Having never met anyone like her, she decides to embark on a search and is surprised to discover that the world is preoccupied with trying to fix disabled people, making them look and function in the ways the majority expects, instead of accepting difference and diversity. Discovering her pregnancy intensifies the questions in her mind tenfold, and in conversations with her parents, her autistic close friend, and others who live with similar disabilities to hers, she finds unexpected and moving answers.
