Italy / France / Greece 2022, 90 min, Greek, Hebrew & English subtitles

A thousand goats and thirty humans, with only a single child among them—this is the entire population of Arki, a tiny Greek island. The child, Kristos, is the only pupil at the local school, where Maria, the school’s sole teacher, instructs him in French, mathematics, history, and drama. As the school year draws to a close, Maria is determined to find a place where Kristos can continue his studies among peers. The boy’s parents, however, are less than thrilled by the idea of sending him to a boarding school on another island. Kristos is an excellent student, but tuition is high, and they would rather have him stay and tend the family herd. Despite the allure of the world beyond, Kristos is filled with emotional turmoil as he must say goodbye to his home, his beloved teacher, and his only friends—the goats.
