Israel 2023, 70 min, Hebrew, English and French, Hebrew & English subtitles

The story of filmmaker Nurith Aviv, the first female cinematographer in Europe. A pioneer in a male profession, she shot more than 100 films, including those by Agnes Varda, René Elio, and Amos Gitai, and directed 15 films of her own. In this documentary filmed over seven years, her image is woven as a woman of contrasts whose cinematic language speaks the patience of long camera movements, while in life she is frantic, impatient and stubborn. Aviv, who is accustomed to controlling every detail of the frame, finds it difficult to devote herself to her new role as the subject of the film, but slowly the defenses are lowered and pieces of life join in deciphering her work, characterized by an obsession with language, questions of identity, heritage, alienation and belonging.
