When a wildfire caused by global warming threatens to engulf Shologon, a tiny village in the Siberian Taiga, Russia refuses to send firefighters. Alone amid the terrifying, beautiful flames, the villagers are determined to defeat the fire-breathing beast, which looks like it came straight out of a fairytale.

Alexander was born in Russia in 1984. In 2013, he directed his first documentary, Sleeping Souls, selected in numerous festivals and awarded with the Institut Français Prize at Cinéma du Réel. The Son, his first feature length documentary, was premiered in the Berlinale Forum and selected at many other festivals.
