United Kingdom 2023, 94 min, English, Hebrew subtitles

When young filmmaker Kit Vincent learns that the tumor in his brain is malignant and will take his life, he turns the lens to his parents and girlfriend and documents their coming to terms with his impending death. At first, his long-divorced parents stay true to the English stereotype and keep a stiff upper lip. His father finds a range of distractions: growing cannabis to supply his son with painkillers, converting to Judaism, and delving into Jewish texts. His mother, an experienced end-of-life nurse, discovers that the coping process is very different when the terminal illness is her son’s. Meanwhile, his girlfriend refuses to contend with the camera’s presence. Over time, Vincent’s humor and the intimacy he creates break through the façade of stoicism and detachment, revealing the raw emotion underneath. This is a warm, gentle, and very moving film.
