Croatia 2023, 12 min, Croatian, Hebrew & English subtitles

In a sleepy residential area in the coastal town of Split, peacocks roam freely, adding a splash of color to the sun-kissed houses. In one apartment, pensioners Ema and Maja while away the afternoons sitting in their armchairs and watching Turkish soap operas. One tells the other all about the love intrigue and the twists and turns of a plot that spans countless episodes. Periodically interrupted by loud commercials and backdropped by glimpses into distant places, the drama bursting from the screen is intermixed with the myriad of small and mundane tasks that make up the two friends’ lives. In but a moment, this day, too, shall pass.
