Poland 2023, 20 min, Polish, Hebrew & English subtitles

“I wish you’d disappear from my life forever. Because you’re terrifying and stressful and stopping me from doing what I want.” Thus, Ania, a teenage girl with a bashful gaze and a shy smile, addresses her stutter. Bartek, a teenage boy, describes his stutter as a fire-breathing monster that makes him feel small and insignificant. In their speech therapy sessions, the two will learn not only to live with their stutter but—perhaps—to love themselves more. Beautifully filmed in black-and-white, this is a heartfelt look at an empowering journey of dealing with disability.
