At their last meeting in 2015, right after their high school finals, they went up to the roof of Beijing’s tallest tower, took selfies, and felt so small. Now, he is coming to visit him at his Frankfurt apartment. They talk about cigarettes, their current partners, and the day they broke up. In the evening, they will go up another skyscraper. What’s changed? Talented Chinese filmmaker Shuli Huang (Will You Look at Me) presents another intimate film that treads the fine line between documentary and reenactment, between an illusion-enabling fantasy and a hard-to-change reality.
