After 76 years of marriage, Jo, 98, and Kang, 90, still caress each other’s faces before they fall asleep. The deep physical and emotional intimacy that this Korean couple feels for each other fills the screen in every shot: when they rake the leaves in their yard, when they carry wood for their fireplace, when they shovel snow, when they tend to their dogs. They laugh and make a game out of everything they do, as if they were still little children. The camera follows the last fifteen months of their life together, to capture their simple routines as they realize that they must soon part. This imminent parting is at once saddening and full of hope, since it will be followed by reunification.
